Torontoist Parties: This Weekend in Dance Music

Tonight, Puerto Rico-born Robbie Rivera (aka the "Juicy Man") comes to This is London to spin his juicy beats with Manzone & Strong. Otherwise we think Toronto will probably be resting up for the next evening.
This Saturday is filled with genuinely difficult choices for the breakbeat-inclined weekend warrior. One on hand, Burning Man favourite FreQ Nasty's Toronto stop at Footwork for Activate Promotions' Think:IN:Breakbeat is going to be the dirtiest, nastiest breakbeats this town has seen since Bassnectar came in November. Another playa DJ and Toronto local, The Phat Conductor, will also be kicking out his characteristically funky beats. $20, 19+.
On the other hand, Kings of the Jungle II at the Docks will feature some of the biggest UK jungle headliners we've seen in a long time: Brockie, Benny Page, Serial Killaz, MC Navigator and Demolition Man will help us rinse it out proper, kept in check of course by the Docks' new island-based sound monitor. Perhaps even more exciting is the return of San Francisco's No Left Turn in the Nocturnal Commissions room, bringing his unique style of west coast hardcore to this decidedly north coast massive. $30 advance, all ages.

Kings of the Jungle II, for the win. Two and a half years of raving, and this party will be preceded by my first kandi-making party. The heck?
For all who wish to attend Kings of the Jungle II, there is a pre-meet at Union Station (in the general vicinity of the McDonalds) to catch up and carpool/cabpool over to the venue. Pre-meet begins at 7:30; doors open at Kings of the Jungle at 10PM!
Happy rave!
Kings of the Jungle 2, FTW!
Solid article, Kev.
The line up for Kings to the Jungle is most definitely a promising one.
Ravers, on MY Torontoist? GTFO. :P
