The Daily Photoist: Last Game Before the Thaw

Each weekday morning, we pick a recent image from the Torontoist Flickr Pool and feature it here on the site. It's our way to give the many excellent photographers in our pool the attention they deserve!

With the spring-like weather we've been having over the past few days, it looks like afternoons of hockey on the lake will be coming to an end for these kids, who were caught in the action by Metrix over on Wards Island this past weekend. While it's sad to see them have to hang up their skates, we're much happier that the warm weather is just around the corner, so we can all partake in other outdoor activities. Hooray to no more making the dog walk himself, shoveling the sidewalk, daring your little sister to stick her tongue to a pole...okay, so maybe we'll miss that last one a tiny bit.
