Live Baby Live - Week of Mar. 12

livebabylivebanner2.jpg

Now that CMW is out of the way, it's time to move onto other pressing music matters -- such as, why the hell are all these really great bands coming to town and playing the Kool Haus?! Can we not get a better venue than that? We just spent three of the last seven days at that venue and had to stand near the soundboard just to get even remotely clear audio of the shows. The acoustics there are almost always terrible...but then again, it is pretty much a giant tin box. /rant

It's a pretty quiet week around these parts, understandably (and thankfully). The weekly listings may be pretty thin, but some best bets include Of Montreal tonight at the Opera House, where Kevin Barnes may grace us on stage wearing a wedding dress; for a change of pace, a number of local musicians are taking part in the Art of Time Ensemble Schubert show at Harbourfront on Thursday and Friday; and the beloved Sub Pop indie boys The Shins are at our favourite place (Kool Haus) on Saturday.

If we missed any shows, let us know in the comments or send your tips/recommendations to carrie@torontoist.com.

Show listings after the jump.
