Live Baby Live - Week of Mar. 5

livebabylivebanner8.jpg

It's finally here - the week of festival hell insanity. Got your wristbands and earplugs ready? Canadian Music Week kicks off on Wednesday with the Indie Awards at The Docks, and Thursday to Saturday will have you running around town trying to catch as many acts as possible. Wristbands are $35, or you can purchase (limited) tickets at the door to most shows. Not your thing this year? There's also the Pitter Patter Festival running from Wednesday to Sunday. It features fewer acts than CMW but depending on your preference, it might give you more bang for your buck. Keep an eye on Torontoist for previews of both festivals in the coming days.

Best bests for this week (not including the festivals) are Sweden's El Perro Del Mar at the Mod Club tonight; tomorrow night is a tough one - Andrew Stockdale will be bringing his 'fro to the Kool Haus where Wolfmother will be playing, or you can check out some high energy Celtic punk with Flogging Molly at the Opera House. Why, oh why must they be on the same night?! Scissor Sisters will be glam rocking it up at the Kool Haus on Wednesday, which should be quite the visual spectacle -- stayed tuned for some cool swag we have to give away this week! And, finally, on Sunday both Pete Yorn and Damon Albarn's The Good, The Bad & The Queen will be in town. Busy week!

Have we missed a show? Let us know in the comments or send your tips/recommendations to carrie@torontoist.com.
