A Bird-Friendly Toronto, Chinatown Traffic Blitz, DiBiase Still A Whiner, PJPII Powers Up For Sainthood

City Council wants to implement a bird-friendly rating system for Toronto buildings to promote bird safety in Toronto. "This is not a bird-brained idea; it's good public policy," says Councillor Joe Mihevc. "Bird-watching is the second most popular hobby for people, after gardening." Who can argue? Birds flying into skyscraper windows is one of the Top 50 Most Depressing Things About Living In Toronto.

Toronto police are cracking down on bad driving in Chinatown over the next couple weeks, calling the blitz Operation Blue Dragon. Seriously? Heh heh. Oh wait, that's a Blue Angel.

The AGO is expecting a collection of Medieval and Renaissance art from Britain's Victoria and Albert Museum this summer, opening June 23 and on display until October 7, 2007. The collection features mostly small and lavishly-ornamented carvings of wood and ivory, enamel containers and works in gold.

Former Vaughan mayor Michael Di Biase is still fighting for a recount after losing the municipal election to Linda Jackson last November. We'll find out on Monday if the baby gets his bottle.
