The Daily Photoist: Coin Wash 3-D

Each weekday morning, we pick a recent image from the Torontoist Flickr Pool and feature it here on the site. It’s our way to give the many excellent photographers in our pool the attention they deserve!

It figures, the day after we throw our 3-D glasses away, James Boston contributes this cool photo to the Torontoist Flickr pool. This Kensington Market laundry shot was apparently taken twice then merged with special software to create the anaglyph effect. Does it work? We hope so! If you happen to have a pair of 3-D glasses on you, test it out and let us know how it looks! Until then, we’ll just enjoy the trippy feel you get looking at it without the glasses.
James has a few other anaglyph images in his stream, so be sure to check out the whole set. There’s even what looks to be an interesting view of the Hamilton cityscape.

Looks fantastic. Just happen to have some 3-d glasses right here.

I have old-style blue and red 3-D glasses (as opposed to the newer red and cyan), so I have to wear them backwards to get the effect of this photo to work properly.

I have a pair left over from when I saw “Nightmare Before Christmas” in 3D a couple months ago (thick black frames, both lenses blue.)
…And it doesn’t work for me.

Vicky — I think you need one cyan and one red to make it work. :)
