The Daily Photoist: Snow fence - Wards Island

Each weekday morning, we pick a recent image from the Torontoist Flickr Pool and feature it here on the site. It's our way to give the many excellent photographers in our pool the attention they deserve!

If it weren't for the ominous snow clouds and bits of ice in the background, it would be hard to tell what time of year that Toronto Street took this photo over on Wards Island. Let's all pretend it's not -15C outside and dream of warmer weather, where this snow is actually sand -- anything to get us through this storm that's currently hitting the GTA.

Be sure to check out Toronto Street's entire Wards Island set -- the tones in all of the photos are gorgeous and moody, and remind us that the Toronto islands are worth a visit all year round. We, too, have spent a few (warmer) winter days shooting photos out there, and you can go for quite some time without seeing another person...it's a great way to calm the mind and forget about the hustle and bustle of the big city.

Thanks, Toronto Street, for warming us up today!
