If you’ve seen the movie The Aristocrats, you know disgusting can be smart. But while most stand up nights have more than their share of jokes involving penises, poo, breasts and masturbation, by the end of the night, what was once mirthful becomes meh. It’s partially because most comics reserve their most fecund fecal matter material for friends and fellow comedians. Few truly delve into scatological onstage.

Comedians Deborah Robinson (Fresh Meat 2006, Much More Music Heat Meter) and Darryl Dinn (Canadian Comedy Award Nominee, Unckey Darryl’s House of Sketchola) think it's time that local talents had a chance to explore their crude and vulgar sides. The result is The Wet and Sticky Show, tonight at Second City.

So, why work the blue? "It can be very freeing, to walk the fine line between funny and just gross," says Robinson (pictured left). And while some may argue that featured acts (including CORY!, Kathleen Phillips, Levi MacDougall, and the B-Girlz’s Shawn Hitchins), have uttered a lewd joke or two, Robinson says, "Most of the comics on the bill aren't known for being crude, and that's why it's so fun."

While you can bet your sweet bippy that you will hear some gags that will disturb you, the hosts will also provide more basic bawdiness. "Darryl and I will be doing dirty like Benny Hill did dirty," she adds. "We're the flirty part of the show." And finally, will the audience actually get wet? "Yes! But not from us."
