Christopher Moore Thinks You Suck
Although it may be Valentine’s Day – don’t worry, there’s still time to buy flowers or chocolates - Christopher Moore still thinks you suck.
Join This Is Not A Reading Series tonight as they celebrate the launch of the cult writer’s latest novel, You Suck. The prolific American author – he splits his time between San Francisco and Hawaii – is probably best known for the novel Lamb. His books often merge horror and comic elements.
You Suck is about 19-year-old C. Thomas Flood. The young man transforms into a vampire after sleeping with his girlfriend, who also happens to be a blood-sucker. Now doesn’t that just scream Valentine’s Day?
Joining Moore this evening will be comedian and author Maggie Cassella. Music will be provided by Sasha Van Bon Bon (of The Scandelles) and Secret Agent.
The party is happening at the Chelsea Room – 923 Dundas St. West – and starts at 7:30 p.m. It is free.

I've heard this is cancelled because he's stuck at the Boston airport
Christopher Moore is stuck at the Boston airport, but the event is not cancelled:
You Suck: The Event
And by "you" I mean "the weather."
It's a snowy day out there, friends. So snowy that our favourite author,
Christopher Moore, is trapped in Boston, under a sheet of falling (and
blowing) snow.
It's winter. What can you do? Let's focus on the positives:
>we've got a great venue (the Chelsea Room on Dundas)
>great music (courtesy of Sasha van bon bon and Secret Agent)
>food (cupcakes)
>booze (courtesy, in part, of HarperCollins)
So - we don't have an author. But the event must go on! Come and drown
your sorrows at the Chelsea Room. Or, at the very least, help me drown
my sorrows. And, if you haven't made appropriate Valentine's Day plans,
I've just solved your dilemma.
Christopher Moore is indeed trapped at the Boston airport, but the event has not been cancelled. The launch party is going on as planned:
Doors: 7pm
