Wedding Bells

2007_01_15wedding.jpgSure, the National Bridal Show might not be starting for another couple of weeks (and Canada's Bridal Show has already ended), but that’s not stopping Random House from holding their own wedding-themed event on Monday evening.

Join some of the editors and contributors of the brand-new anthology, My Wedding Dress: True Life Tales of Lace, Laughter, Tears and Tulle at Nicholas Hoare – 45 Front St. E. – for the Toronto launch party of the book. And before you go looking it up, tulle is apparently "a fine, often starched net of silk, rayon, or nylon, used especially for veils, tutus, or gowns." Who knew?

My Wedding Dress is a collection of true stories penned by a mix of established and up-and-coming literary talent, including Michele Landsberg, Edeet Ravel, Lorna Crozier, Kerri Sakamoto, Ami McKay, Laurie Elmquist, Sandra Campbell, Adwoa Badoe, and Ilana Stanger-Ross.

The book is edited by and features contributions from Susan Whelehan (who will be speaking) and Anne Laurel Carter, and includes a foreword by Stevie Cameron and an afterword by Amy Cameron.

The event begins at 6 p.m. and is free.
