Okay, We Get It: It's The New Year.

As Best of 2006 lists wind down, First of 2007 lists are just getting started. After Toronto's post-celebration hangover wore off, the city took stock of its first firsts of the year.

In Scarborough, a Malvern resident was arrested in relation to the First Homicide of 2007, and the newborn son of Patrick Thanaratnam and wife was awarded the honour of First GTA Baby of 2007.

Kitchener teen and Newcastle United defender David Edgar celebrated his First Goal in the English Premier League yesterday, kicking the tying goal against Manchester United.
Oh come on, Kitchener is almost Toronto...when it breeds an upcoming soccer hero.

The First Nightclub Shooting of 2007 award was unsurprisingly achieved by The Guvernment earlier this morning. The two victims are not in critical condition.

Toronto still waits for its First Snow of 2007 while temperatures yesterday reached 9 degrees and aren't expected to drop much today.

Funny and curious that the shooting was actually at a private event. Maybe relieving because it shows it probably wasn't random violence.

Worth mentioning is that in 2006 there were two fatal shootings within the boundaries of Clubland proper.
