Live Baby Live - Week of Jan. 22

livebabylivebanner5.jpg

"Just take those old records off the shelf, I'll sit and listen to 'em by myself, today's music ain't got..." Oh. Ahem...sorry, just reliving the old days of Fisher-Price rollerskating around the house to Bob Seger (and Joan Jett, if anyone's counting). Did you know that good ol' Bob is in town this week at the ACC? Did anyone know he was still alive and kicking? There are still tickets available for Tuesday, so it might be a good opportunity to spend some quality bonding time with the parents.

Best shows to explore this week include the first night of Apostle of Hustle's residency at The Rivoli on Wednesday; Rockstar Supernova is in town that same evening (we're looking at you, Lukas Rossi fans - OMGLOL!); The Brown Hornets are always guaranteed to be a good time (they'll feed you bananas, son!), and are at the Horseshoe on Friday; Saturday is crazy with choices between Holy Fuck and Kids on TV/Ohbijou mashup at the Music Gallery, Sloan at Nathan Phillips Square and M Ward at Mod Club (good luck deciding); and on Sunday the latest Pitchfork/SPIN/Stereogum darlings Rock Plaza Central will be at Lee's Palace -- they're local, and even did a decent remake of Timberlake's 'Sexy Back'.

Be sure to have a look at the recently announced shows, too...yet again, another long list this week.

Thur Feb 8, +nurse & Fidgit @ The Bovine, $5

Who in their right mind would pay a bill for Rockstar Supernova?
Seriously.
Seriously.
That's some dumb shit.

Chris -- agreed. However, if you click on that link I provided in the 'best bets' area, you'll see exactly who's paying it. Er, who's parents are paying it.
