Live Baby Live - Week of Jan. 15, 2007

livebabylivebanner1.jpg

After a three week hiatus, the music listings are back! Hope everyone enjoyed the holidays.

The year is still ramping up, so the list this week will be a bit quieter than usual. However, the good news is that this is already shaping up to be an amazing year, if the recent tour announcements are any indication. There are a ridiculous number of great bands coming through Toronto in the next few months, including Under Byen, Bloc Party, Wolfmother, TV on the Radio, and many more (some of which are listed below). Also, the folks at Canadian Music Week are currently getting the schedule together for CMW 2007, running Mar. 7-10. We'll be taking a more in-depth look at CMW closer to the date, but with so many bands playing, it doesn't hurt to start planning your week early and picking up a wristband if you haven't done so already.

Best bets for this week include Royal Wood on Monday (yet again...have you seen him yet?!); Shad K is back in town on Wednesday with his wicked freestylin'; on Thursday there's Jim Bryson, recently back from touring with Howe Gelb, or Earl Greyhound, who are a Zeppelin-esque sounding NYC band; and on Saturday Haligonian rocker Matt Mays will be at the Mod Club with fellow east coaster's Museum Pieces.

Let us know in the comments if we've missed listing any good shows this week. You can also email carrie [at] torontoist.com with tips or information on upcoming shows you think viewers would be interested in.

See this week's listings after the jump.

HOWE Gelb. Not Howie. though some may call him Howie.

Thanks, Frank. Auto pilot fingers. ;)

Ummm...Bob Snider's show at Hugh's is on Saturday, February 3rd. Where are you getting your information from?

Erin -- I get my concert info from all over the place. This one happened to be listed on EYE: http://eye.net/music/concerts/index.php#chart

He seems to play everywhere all the time, so he's probably there on the 3rd, too.
