This video was the best use of internet I've seen all day!

Thank you to whomever raided the CBC archives. Hilarious.

Wow that was even before world wide web.

Internet is cool!

Eek. That modem shreaking in my ear brought back memories of the times it took 8 billion years just to read one email.

*goes and rocks herself in the corner*

Poor Bill Cameron. R.I.P.

The most charming part of this innocence, aside from people "passing on cooking tips" and clickety keyboards was that they had no idea of the deluge of joke emails, phishing scams and spam to come.

$200 per year...those were the days. I love how that one guy is called an "internet enthusiast" and that he points out how there are not a lot of putdowns and personal attacks on Internet.

I found it funny how noble the beginnings of Internet were. If only they knew that we would waste a good chunk of our time using it for porn, exchanging Chuck Norris jokes, and watching teenaged kids experiment with Diet Coke and Mentos.

I think the guy with a "deep and abiding passion for all things thai" probably had an inkling of internet's porn capacities...

No earlier than 92 - I wanna say 93ish?

Does the mid-90s Discovery Channel series "Life on the Internet" hold a special place in anyone else's heart?

Also, funny in the sense that its one of the few videos of CBC's ill-fated Prime Time News that's floating around the net.
