2006 has been a great year for Torontoist and I've been fortunate to work with a team of great photographers and writers who put in countless hours to make this site something special. So it's with some sadness that I step down as one of the editors of Torontoist.com. I will remain on Torontoist as a contributor and writer but I felt that it was time that I pursued other opportunities.
Editing this site and seeing it grow into the largest and easily the best city blog in Canada has been a learning and rewarding experience for me. I've also had tons of fun doing it. I hope you all have had as much fun reading, commenting and coming back to the site.
So without further adieu, I also introduce the man who's stepping up to help David Topping run the site, Marc Lostracco. Right from the very beginning it was clear that Marc knew what makes blogs tick and also what keeps you coming back day after day after day. If Marc's work in 2006 is any indication, I can hardly wait to see what he and David will get up to in 2007.
Happy new year everyone and keep on blogging.

Best of luck with everything, Ron, and I'm glad to see that you'll still be contributing to the site. :)
Just to publicly suck up for a moment here: Ron, your help this year has been absolutely incredible. It's been terrific to have learned all sorts of stuff from you over these past eight months since I hopped on and began co-Editing.
I know that you'll rule at whatever you choose to do next and I'm glad that you're still gonna keep Torontoist as part of what I know is a ridiculously busy schedule.
We love you Ron! :)
Glad to see all three comments are from TOist contributors.
Good luck Ron, but please tell your editors to send you emails instead of posting comments -- it makes the site look like a self-absorbed and a navel-gazer.
What does Ron plan to do instead of TOist?
Happy New Year to you, too, Ahmad. Hope your resolution is to relax a little.
Good luck with your 'other opportunities', Ron!
Thanks so much for all your work on the site Ron! Over the past year Torontoist has been getting better and better and is now the first thing I read in the morning. I'm glad to hear that you'll still be contributing, even if it is a little less.
Best of luck in all your future endeavours!
And Congratulations to Marc--you've got a lot to live up to, but I'm confident you can do it.
Good luck, Ron!
I've only known Ron for a very short time, but something I would like to mention to those outside of the internal Torontoist workings is how passionate the staff is, and how seriously and optimistically people like Ron take the city they live in. Ron is still a young 'un and has accomplished much in the way of local influence, and I am looking forward to seeing how that expands for him as the years go on. I have no doubt that we'll "remember him when..." in years to come as his forward-thinking passion for "stuff" manifests itself in his work.
That smile you see in the photo above is very much what you always get. The first thing that struck me when I met Ron was how friendly and easy he is to talk to, so if you see him out somewhere, make sure you introduce yourself. He also has a voice extremely similar to my dentist.
