Photos From the Meat Packers Fire

2006_11_07fire.jpg

Torontoist reader Christopher snapped these photos of that huge fire at a meat packing plant on St. Clair Avenue. The fire started early in the morning Monday and grew into a five-alarm blaze. Firefighters were trying to put it out well into the night.

Those are some spectacular photos!

I was able to take some video of the fire yesterday from my balcony. So crazy.

I wonder if the fire was just an elaborate escape attempt by one of the inmates (perhaps inspired by infamous cow in Mrs. O'Leary's barn).

It was indeed crazy, living on the street where all the news crews parked.
