Live Baby Live - Week of Nov. 27

30STM © Carrie Musgrave

It's that time of the year--benefit concert season. There are a number of them coming up in the next few weeks, including The Holiday Jam (Sick Kids), Jason Collett & The Constantines (CARE Canada), and Bedouin Soundclash (Doctors Without Borders/War Child), so if you're in a giving mood, this may be a good way to do it while also catching some great music.

Best bets for this week include Tenacious D tonight (love/hate...always entertaining), Danny Michel on Thursday (home grown goodness), and it's a struggle with who to choose on Saturday...on one hand, there's Tokyo Police Club, who'll soon be playing shows for much more than $10, and on the other hand there's Les Breastfeeders, a French band who have the best damn tambourine player on tour. Oh, the decisions.

Got a good tip on a show we haven't included? Let us know in the comments.

Sloan on Thursday, good people!

Doh! Thanks. I had it on my list and don't know how I forgot to add them!! Done.

This Thursday Nov. 30th is the date for the second Sam Ferrara benefit at the Cameron House.

Check out this AMAZING line up!

Cameron Family Singers
Screamin' Sam
Greg Keelor (Blue Rodeo) has just been added
Backstabbers
Rattlesnake Choir
Jack Family
Brothers Countrypolitan
Shameless Dames Burlesque Show

There will also be a fabulous silent auction...not too many things, because we're coming for the great tunes, but some out-of-this-world goodies nonetheless - did I hear someone say a pair of the world's greatest cowboy boots from Liberty Boot Co. (check 'em out at www.libertybootco.com!), hot punk tees from I'm With Stupid and a "Borat" package from 20th Century Fox that you will not believe - unreleased DVDs anyone?

So what more can I say except that the fun begins at the Cameron House ( 408 Queen Street West, 416-703-0811) this Thursday, November 30 at 9pm and it's only $10 at the door.
