Last-minute plan to save the Expo; Miller unveils final pledges; Missing man no longer missing; Raptors lose the first game of the season

2006_11_02skyline.jpg Toronto officials are currently engaged in a last-ditch effort to save the 2015 World's Fair. Is it just me or would the Expo be a colossal mistake?

In semi-related news, Christopher Hume doesn't think Toronto is on the road to a better future.

With election day fast approaching, David Miller makes his final campaign pledges.

A Richmond Hill man, missing for 28 hours, turns up at a police station.

I'd been counting down this day for at least two months. I have about 30 tickets to a half-dozen games sitting on the desk in front of me. And yet, as always, they break my heart. The Toronto Raptors lost their season-opener to Vince Carter and the New Jersey Nets last night. Oh well, it was only one game. At least T.J. Ford looked good. And at least the Leafs won.

Finally: fake moon sand is apparently one of the most sought-after Christmas presents for kids.

In one small way I hope expo lives and that is to witness the fits of utter apoplexy on the part of the NIMBY crowd when they discover that expo plans call for, among other things, a cable car that will require pylons to be built in the harbour and a 5000 seat permanent concert venue down by Clark/Cherry beach.
