Walk In A River and Keep Your Feet Dry

Believe or not there are rivers in Toronto other than the Don and the Humber. Back in the day downtown Toronto was crisscrossed by streams like Taddle Creek and the Garrison. Most of these were abused by settlers and used as sewers, dumping grounds and finally buried.

But this weekend the Toronto Public Space is going to try to bring the Garrison, the largest of Toronto's buried rivers back to the surface, metaphorically. On Saturday afternoon the TPSC will be making crafts and puppets to be used on Sunday afternoon's community walk. Bundle up on Saturday night and hit a screening of Andy Goldsworthy's River and Tides.

On Sunday join up with the parade of people in blue at Christie Pits at 1:30. The walk ends at the foot of the Garrison by Fort York. Bring comfy shoes. All of the above events are PWYC.
