Transit Tees Debut at Canzine

transitpride_banner.jpg

Attendees of yesterday's Canzine event were the first to purchase two limited-edition designs from our transit swag post. We chose the green escalator icon and the cheeky, reader-suggested "Kiss & Ride" for our first run, and to everyone who inquired about other designs (especially the stylized streetcar that seems to be a favourite), stay tuned to Torontoist for some exciting future announcements.

There are still a limited number of these collector's items available in both women's and men's cuts. If you're interested in a shirt and are willing to pick them up in the Yonge and Bloor area, we're selling the remaining stock for $20 each on a first-come, first-served basis. Contact Marc for more information.

Special thanks go to Jeremy at Popfuel (a membership-supported screenprinting studio which also had a table at Canzine) for helping us get these done in time.

UPDATE: SOLD OUT in men's M and XL of "Escalator".

Brilliant.

I lost the torontoist button that I picked up at Canzine *tears* Any way I can get another?

I soooo wanted to be there and get some swag! Damn.

"Reader-suggested"! I'M said reader! I feel a stupid amount of pride for that hahaha.

Marc, look for an email, I want one, and I'll buy it today if you like!

brokenengine: I think that the reader involvement is such a fantastic part of the enthusiasm over these shirts. We're hoping to have more options for our readers to take part in this which will be fully announced later...but I've said too much! :-O

For a spin on the Mind the Gap logo, how's about a "Mind the Gap Ninja" t-shirt? The little stick figure can be wearing his ninja outfit (because you know he has one) and have a samurai sword hanging over his shoulder. And instead of stepping over the gap, he can be LEAPING over it, all ninja like.

just to be a dick: a ninja would be carrying a Ninjatō (ninja sword) not a Katana (samurai sword), unless of course he had like killed a samurai or something, cause, ya know, ninjas do stuff like that ....

thrilling. glad you folks are making & selling tshirts. wish i'd gone to canzine.

Woohoo! I bought the last XL! So excited...

What the...? I don't read toist for 3 days and I miss this event?

Hrmff... will there ever be a torontoist store? (cafepress anyone?)

Pleeease no Cafepress. Overpriced, terrible quality.

Marc, looking forward to those options .... a formal survey, perhaps?

Wish I'd known a) about Canzine and b) the shirts would be there, I might have c) gone.

We did have a teaser post on Friday - but no worries, those of you who missed it will have another shot at getting some merch soon.

Nope, we're not even considering Cafepress and we're all very aware that the quality has to be good. David Topping is the most vocal about that, so...

Andrew, Patrick, rek, et al: there are still shirts left if you still want to buy some. We've sold ten already today and it was really nice meeting everyone who dropped-by to pick them up (and at Canzine too).

Jason: we've had a few requests for the door-closing ninja, so it's on our radar!
