Hometown favourite Sloan play the Kool Haus tonight in support of their newest album, Never Hear The End Of It. The show's being billed as their 10th Anniversary at the venue.
Hopping on the Web 2.0 train, the band has posted clips of their rehearsals for the tour:
Alternatively, you can also see the band as they really were in 1996.
Update (from Sloan's website): "Tonight's show at Kool Haus in Toronto has been rescheduled due to illness. Chris [Murphy] has a throat infection and was unable to sing at last night's show in Montreal. Today his condition has worsened, forcing the postponement. The Kool Haus show has been rescheduled for November 30th. All tickets will be honored. Refunds are available if you are unable to attend on the 30th."

uhhh, "howetown favourite"? you are aware that they are NOT from toronto, right? try halifax ....
In Cal's defense, they've all lived in Toronto for 10+ years. I may have grown up in Michigan, but I'd hardly call myself "from" there.
Yeah, Chris Murphy has a better chance of getting hit by a streetcar than freezing in a Halifax winter.
Actually, only Jay Ferguson is from Halifax. So, the majority of the band probably spent as much or more time in Toronto.
Hope they play HFXNSHC tonight. I'd love to see them do a punk song live.
yeh, ok, fair enough ...
just wish they'd break up again ...
Sloan has never broken up.
yes, they did after they released their first EP and LP (early 90s). then they got back together unfortunately.
i lived in halifax at the time and remember the announcement as well as their Farewell Concert...not that i went ... but i think i did make a toast to them. it was the time of the post-Seattle scene and everyone though Halifax was going to be the next Seattle. there were a LOT of really good bands kickin' around (kind of like the indie scene in TO now), but for soem bizarre reason Sloan made it ... inexplicable, kind of like why VHS beat out Beta in the 80's ....
the sloan show at koolhaus tonight is cancelled, chris has laryngitis. Apparently it will be re-scheduled.
