Mayoral Candidates Out In Force, We're Losing Jobs and Immigrants, Recyling Bags Gets Thumbs Down

The mayoral debate at the St. Lawrence Centre last night was a success. 27 out of the 38 candidates showed up including LeDrew, Miller, Pitfield and this guy, who is young enough to be their kid.

We stink, or at least our garbage does. It's probably why a Superior Court judge has given the Halton Recycling Plant a big thumbs down and ordered it closed till next year.

A lawyer is filing complaints that the Liberals have been illegally signing up new members because organizers have been paying for new members' fees.

2006_10_5tcf.jpgThe Toronto Community Foundation has released their 2006 Vital Signs report. We're apparently losing jobs because of high taxes. Poor families are also having a hard time getting daycare that presumably would help them get better jobs.

Two teenagers have been charged with setting a girl on fire and then filming it.

School trustees have a plan to save $84 million by deferring maintenance and cutting administrative costs.

The City nixes the idea of switching over to recycling bags. The plant can't process them and they often tear and are awkward.
