C is for Comtemporary Art

2006_10_11cmagazine.jpgC Magazine has been around since 1984 and it’s got a new look thanks to Antonio de Luca, who happens to be the creative director of The Walrus. The quarterly, Canadian (Toronto-based) publication on international, contemporary art contains informative ARTicles that put Canadian art into an international context as well as bringing us updates on arts abroad.
We’ve yet to see the new and revamped copy of C Magazine (the accompanying photo is the cover from the Spring issue) but to check it out, Head to Bar Italia (582 College St) tonight at 8pm for the launch of the new issue. A $10 cover will get you into the bar where you’ll eat food in form of snacks, listen to music by Domaine D’or & Parallel Lion, as well as get a copy of the magazine. If you’re unable to attend the event, make sure to check out C Magazine when it arrives on a shelf near you.

    go buy or subscribe to C – it is the best art magazine in toronto, and – compared to the last few issues of Canadian Art – the best in English-speaking Canada. if only it could hold a torch to Parachute – but we all know Quebec rules when it comes to arts + culture (or at least their provincial government thinks so and funds the shit out of it).
