For those of you who didn’t attend on Wednesday night, the news coming out of the Pontiac Quarterly is that founder Damian Rogers is leaving the poetry/prose/arts/music night. Liz Clayton is taking over organizing and hosting duties, with her first edition slated for October.

Watch for falling haikus: As Ron posted about on Friday, 50 poets, including George Elliot Clarke and Stuart Ross, will be invading Dundas Square today from noon until midnight. If you need a poetry fix, this should last you through Christmas.

Indiepolitik’s monthly series, Strong Words, is happening Monday night. Readers this month include comic and Toronto Star columnist Sabrina Jalees and Hal Niedviecki (pictured.) It gets underway at 7:30pm at the Gladstone - 1214 Queen W. Pay what you can.

Wildsound, the script reading series, takes place on Tuesday, with James Hurst reading two scripts. It starts at 7pm at the Pilot Tavern – 22 Cumberland – and will cost you $4 to get in.

And, of course, the Art Bar takes place on Tuesday night. This week Julie McNeill (Four Red Crescent Moons) and Robb Allan take the stage. It starts at 8pm at the Victory Café – 581 Markham. Remember to tip the hat.

Also on Tuesday, This Is Not a Reading Series launches “The Cinema of Canada” and “Of This Place and Elsewhere: The Films and Photography of Peter Mettler” which will feature a panel discussion moderated by Marc Glassman, and an interview with Peter Mettler. It takes place at the Gladstone – 1214 Queen W. – starting at 8:30pm and is free.

And finally, some cool news to end the week. Edward Keenan launches the inaugural edition of The Tungsten Arts & Letters Society Outdoor Word & Music Adventure (whew) on Wednesday night at 6:30pm at the foot of the Baldwin Steps near Casa Loma. The theme is Fairy Tales. There will be readings by Joel McConvey and Kathryn Borel. There is also a house band. Ed’s mom will also be serving refreshments. Torontoist will be there.
