School Budgets Go Public, St. Pauls Race Gets More Crowded, New Cops Hit The Street

The Toronto District School Board is holding three public consultation nights to ask parents how they should handle the $84.5 million deficit.

Jane Pitfield releases her financial platform and we don't spot many surprises: cutting business taxes, a hiring freeze at City Hall, a rollback of the pay raise to councillors.

Former city councillor John Adams is joining John Sewell in a bid to unseat Joe Mihevc in Ward 21 (St. Paul's). Through a election technicality Adams actually has $30,000 in the bank from his previous campaigns.

Tim Horton's is indirectly responsible for a huge percentage of the litter on our streets and they're trying to do something about it.

Cadbury has had a factory in Toronto for a century and they're giving away chocolate bars this afternoon at Dundas Square. The Post goes straight to the source in this story.

While other students are starting school the Toronto Police Service is graduating 160 new officers. The graduating class is touted as being the largest most diverse group to graduate.

Wow. Pitfield's decision to cut the pay hikes for councillors is her first big idea that hasn't gotten me pissed off at her. Whatever; still voting Miller.

Pitfield v. Miller is like lung cancer v. throat cancer.
Both are pretty unpalatable.
I was all stoked for Miller three years ago, but his record has less than thrilled me.
Pitfield is just stunned. Deer-in-headlights. Lost. Mostly useless.
Is Enza Supermodel running again? Seriously, I'm asking.
