If you're like most Torontonians, the approach of September comes with some alarm -- not only because the TTC is beset by caustic high school students, but because the cold, grey season is at hand. Come February, sometimes the only comfort comes from not being Edmonton.
But as The Register reports, Google Maps has the enviable solution for Edmonton's seasonal blues: drive over to the next postal code, where pools are open and leaves are green! Our lucky compatriots can take a wintery run down a black diamond and then hit the patios for lunch.
As for us, Torontoist plans to while-away the impending winter days browsing Google Maps for the ghosts of our local architectural treasures, now demolished.

What was the demolished building (the last link - now demolished) I don't recognize it.
It's the Inn On The Park. More about it in my other article at http://www.torontoist.com/archives/2006/08/torontos_famous.php
