Whilst out for a walk on yet another balmy (read: malodorous) night, this Torontoist and her partner in crime noticed the very large billboard for Roots on the west side of Yonge at the Eaton Centre, featuring a very languid Wayne Gretzky. Now, this is really apropros of nothing, but it shocked and amused us nonetheless: when did Wayne morph into what seems to be a blonde k.d. Lang?
We were perturbed, as those caught unawares usually are, but we moved on and continued with our night, trying to find a respite from the heat...

Wow, a post on Torontoist that's actually funny for a change.
It wasn't funny
Astutely observed but the post in itself was not funny
Just one girl's opinion
Not sure if the post was meant to be about the giggles or just an observation. So, is this a comment on the first comment? Or just a judgement on what one might actually find amusing?
i dunno, i guess it's just the combination of "a languid wayne gretzky" and the muskoka backdrop, i dunno...to me it's funny.
and by the way, kate - you're a nerd for that post.
oat, thanks for sticking up for me, or you, or whomever really, i'm just confused at this point.
if you find me mildly amusing, great. if you find me perpetually tedious that's fine too - i'm not in it for the glory. ha.
chacun son gout, as they sometimes say.
we're all friends here, aren't we?
Wow... I am not the only one that realized it!
