    The station is pretty weird; though the tracks run along ground level (so it’s not even a “sub”-way), the exits are all above the highway, and in nice, pretty, typical-looking residential areas. Combine that with the big, plastic-y-looking exterior of the station, which is probably one of the ugliest pieces of any station I’ve seen so far. It’s…unique. The whole thing is unique.
    Summerhill’s coming up relatively soon, though, so I’ll see how it compares. ;)

    When you’re at St. Clair West on Wednesday, make sure not to miss the north entrance/exit. I only saw it for the first time a couple of weeks ago, but it’s among the most beautiful of all of the TTC’s hidden gems.

    And Jonathan, I was already at St. Clair, actually (I’m a bit ahead of what’s posted on the site). I liked that exit (a lot), but I didn’t get to shoot that area for as long as I wanted. One guy was particularly aggressive and protective of me shooting around the area (“How come you’re here? There was another photographer here earlier…how come you’re here??”) and hung around while I was shooting.

    J—- f—ing C—–, now we’re not allowed to photograph the outsides of stations? It is inconceivable to me that any person or organization could ever put anything on the urban landscape and then expect people to refrain from taking pictures of it.
    I just read that thread on Flickr about taking photos on TTC property, and I’m glad you were granted your permit, but I just can’t believe that you were hassled for snapping shots of the part of St. Clair West that is aboveground at Heath / Tichester.

    Great picture. This is a little bit off topic, but I went to your flickr to check out some of the other stations and you have some great photos in there. The ones you took for Sherbourne were interesting to me. I go there a lot, yet I’ve never used that exit before and I’ve never seen that cool bridge view, either.

    I’ll have to see that St. Clair West exit … I’m very rarely in the west end. Anyone else have favourite architectural spots on the TTC to share? I’d love to know.

    Sherbourne’s beautiful; before I went, one of my friends suggested that I walk around back of the station and across that bridge…
    And yeah, I know, Jonathan. Though I should clarify that the guy hassling me was not a TTC staffer, just some random guy.
    I think when I’m done this whole thing, I’ll do some kind of conclusion-type post where I write about some of the things that have hit me over this trip, I should definitely include my favourite TTC spots. Here are a few, though (off the top of my head):
    1) Crossing over the DVP on the bridge (both on foot and in the subway). I used to do it when I was a kid, but totally forgot how fun it is.
    2) That bridge at Sherbourne.
    3) All of the SRT line. I had never been until this, and had a lot of fun at almost all of them.
    4) The art at Eglinton West (I’ll be posting a shot from there today; it’s beautiful, seriously).
    Most of my favourite spots on the TTC have come far away from home (I’m in the south-west area of the city), incidentally.
