TTC GM Ducharme Quits

2006_6_6ducharme.jpgThe man with the second most thankless job in the city (TTC Union head Bob Kinnear takes the cake for this one we think) has tendered his resignation. The Star has a nice PDF of it here and a story on the whole sordid situation. The CBC doesn’t shed much more light except that it was Adam Giambrone who confirmed the resignation.
The media has been abuzz with rumours that Ducharme was not getting along well with TTC Chair Howard Moscoe and all of those rumours seem to be confirmed with his resignation.
In fact, Ducharme cites political interference as why he’s quitting. His resignation also comes at a very sensitive time, considering the comission is currently trying to wrangle some semblance of labour peace from the union.

    I don’t like Kinnear, personally. Have you heard the man speak? Something about hearing someone refer to co-workers as – and only as – “brothers and sisters” scares me just a bit.
    We’ll see what effect this has on this mess, though.
