If You Had Wings You'd Be Home By Now

pigeon condo

Part of the networked city, the pigeon condo has been erected down at Yonge and Lakeshore, under the Gardiner.

Promo material explains:

Pigeon Condo is developing luxury housing for pigeons at the desirable intersection of Yonge Street and the Lakeshore Boulevard, in the heart of Toronto's revitalized waterfront.

Showings of the presentation suite are happening this weekend, On Saturday (June 3rd) Tej Ajji will speak about gentrification, there will be pigeon feeding and model viewing; on Sunday there will also be Pigeon feeding and model viewing, but also kite-flying. Both events from 2-4pm.

Once all the pigeons are inside their condo, we should lock the doors and burn it -- along with the people who feed the damn shitting machines so they flock around me every time I sit down in a public area.

I agree with Anon. Pigeons and seagulls are a dirty annoyance. Feeding them should get you a fine

you people suck.

maybe the pigeons are saying the same things about us and our own crappy condos and waste. (they were here 'first', after all) maybe that was the best hippy argument i have ever made.

either way, fuck off, they're just birds. people who are freaked by birds need to chiiiiilll out.

Actually, no, the pigeon was not here first. It was introduced to North America in 1606, at Port Royal Nova Scotia. What's that? Man meddling with the natural distribution of species? I guess we should restore the balance a little and drive them from our shores. Beat that, hippy! :P

Hmm.. That means the pigeon predates my family's arrival to Nova Scotia by a good couple of decades.

Please don't let the birds set me on fire.

Pigeons are just rats with wings, and I don't see any one setting up rat sanctuaries in Toronto (unless you count the rubbish piled on Spadina every evening).
