Dove è il teatro di film?

This mid-week ushers in the Toronto Italian Film Festival at the Bloor Cinema. In its eigth year, the festival seems to get better every year, with a nice diversity of films to check out. This year, they are featuring a "De Sica Trilogy:" three generations of De Sica filmmakers. This includes Multi-Award winner Vittorio De Sica, son Christian De Sica and grandson Brando De Sica with a Canadian film premier. Christian De Sica was involved in some of the biggest grossing comedies ever to come out of Italy.

Other films include Partigiano Johnny a World War II film, the obligatory love story: A Journey Called Love, and the period film Masaniello. Luckily, a number of the directors will be at the screenings.

There are two film screened each evening from June 8 to the 11, with a block of shorts showing Sunday afternoon at 4:30. Tickets are a mere $8, and I'm sure the films are better than any Vaughniston BreakUp movie. Further, before (or after) you see a film, head a major block south to College and the Littly Italy strip for some delicious tiramisù, sfogliatelle and a nice evening espresso.
