Oooh look, the Corp has redesigned its website and its about time. The CBC site has tons of great stuff, the podcasts alone are enough to move us to tears sometimes. But prior to today's redesign, CBC.ca hasn't had a major redesign since 2000. That's like 42 years in internet time.

Newsstand: November 9, 2009
Neat. Coincidentally, another site I visit daily updated their design today too: slashdot.org. I notice both have gone for a more minimalist "blog-like" feel. Can't complain about that.
A minor correction - the last web-update was in 2001 or in 2002, but definetly after 9/11 (and I can prove it, since I took a screencapture of their webpage on that day).
Don't look at me for the mistake... that's actually on the CBC website.
From their "Letter to the audience":
Today, CBC.ca officially launches its first redesign since 2000. We’re very pleased with it, and hope you will be too.
Wow, if their memory is that short for their own website, what does that tell us about their qualifications to report news!?
The Wayback machine shows the last redesign happened in December 2001. Check out this page from Nov 2001
