Toronto(ist) Bikes. Why Don’t You?

2006_5_26bikeweek.jpg
Torontoist notices that the City’s BikeWeek celebration seems to stretch a little longer each year. The 2006 edition officially stretches from May 29 to June 11, almost two weeks, and if you include the fact that many of the events started well before the 29th you could almost rename the event BikeMonth. But we digress.
The first large event is Monday’s Breakfast and Lunchtime cycling fest at City Hall which will include a group ride starting at various points at the city that’ll eventually converge at Nathan Phillips Square. There’ll be a free breakfast and probably plenty of groups giving away bike goodies.
Later that night CBN will be having a poster auction at the Gladstone where you can also check out the Bicycle Art Show at the Art Bar. There’s also the Bike History show From Scorchers to Alley Cat Scrambles on at the Market Gallery at the South St. Lawrence Market.
Our friends over at UofT’s BikeChain will also be throwing a small party June 1st to celebrate moving into a new space and nearly a year of operation.
