Bay & Bloor homeless man
I was taking a few photos on Bay and Bloor a while back, trying to be unobvious about what I was doing. Turns out I didn’t do so great of a job. When I got back home, I realized that the homeless guy on the right was staring at me. In every shot.

    I always feel strange taking pics of people in public… it’s a comfort thing I have to get over. But they live in a public space, so they have to be okay with being photographed!

    Honestly, the best thing you can do is just to do it. Don’t try to hide (like I did with this photo). I’ve found that just looking like you know what you’re doing and not being shifty or weird about it is the best way to do it. If someone objects, just delete their photo out of courtesy, or explain what you’re doing.
    And smile. (Genuine) smiling saves your ass.
