Funny Guy and Cutie Reading at The TPL

If authors Thomas King and Joseph Boyden ever teamed up as Can-Lit superheroes this could be their secret identities.

King is one of Canada's best novelists with works like Green Grass, Running Water and Truth and Brightwater, not to mention the recently back on CBC Dead Dog Cafe. His latest book is A Short History of Indians in Canada.

2006_5_11boyden.jpgThere's also his sidekick Joseph Boyden (left). We think that his debut novel Three Day Road got shafted for awards and at Canada Reads. The Metis author teaches in New Orleans and wrote eloquently about the destruction of his adopted home in Maclean's. We also kinda think he's the cutest author writing in Can-Lit right now.

Both authors read at the Beeton Auditorium in the Metro Reference Library. 7pm tonight. Free.

Three-Day was the best book I read this year, Can-Lit or otherwise.
