anagram_button.jpgThose who attended the transit-themed Spacing magazine launch this past Tuesday may have noticed something not unlike Spacing’s subway buttons floating around, except featuring Robot Johnny’s anagrammed station names instead. These were the brainchild of Liz Clayton, who yesterday received cease and desist letters from lawyers at both Spacing and Robot Johnny. She has since approached ttcrider.ca to organize a protest against their bullying.

Hey… don’t mean to be an anal grammar check guy, but the way this entry is worded first made me think that Spacing and Robot Johnny had *sent* the letters. I was briefly impressed that they had legal teams, actually. Then I read more and realized they were the recipients. And yeah, the TTC is stuck in the stone ages. So short sighted.

Glad I’m not the only one wondering if the world had gone mad and Spacing was suing someone… that entry hurt my mind.

I think Sean _meant_ it to seem like Spacing and RobotJohnny had sent the letters…it’s rhetorical device called “sarcasm” or “irony” or “tounge-in-cheekiness”.

Yeah, it was supposed to be a joke, but I think maybe I’m a little too close to it all, so it’s obvious to me, but perhaps I should be more aware of the wider audience that’s reading the posts?

Yep, okay, I see how that works pretty well as satire. I just totally didn’t get it.

Actually we told our lawyers to go ahead now with the lawsuit.
