Building Up the Framework
The Framework Foundation’s Timeraiser campaign is a perfect example of a win-win-win situation. The foundation buys artwork from local artists, young professionals interested in volunteering then bid on art by promising to volunteer at one of 40 local non-profits (everyone from the Toronto Public Library to Meal Exchange). Everyone gets something great: artists get paid for their work and contribute to a good cause, a young artlover gets a piece to hang on the wall, the socially minded get an opportunity to contribute in a meaningful way, and community groups get much needed help.
Torontoist will cut this post short, he’s got his eye on a couple of pieces on the website (like this one by Adam Matak) and is wondering just how many hours he can spare in the next little while. Oh, the auction is tommorow night at the CBC Atrium, tickets are $20.
