Toronto Hydro is leapfrogging over cellphone companies and planning to offer citywide WiFi which means you can access Torontoist pretty much everywhere. Like on skating rinks, or parks or heck, even while you're driving (something we don't support and won't be liable for if you're stupid enough to do it). According to the Toronto Star story Ted Rogers is very very pissed off about the development. All we have to say is good, that guy deserves it. Have you seen TOist's cable and phone bill?!
The development means we join cities like Philadelphia, San Francisco and Chicago with plans or already having city-wide Wi-Fi. Coincidentally these are all city with -Ist sites. Coincidence? We think not.

Citywide WiFi is Great, bu will make it even harder to shake this dirty dirty internet addiction.
if it's more than $10 a month, i will be a very sad panda :(
Now now, I already drive through Toronto with a Mario Kart mentality... and if it wasn't for those damned slippery bananas I would totally be winning too.
Paige.. We both know you can't drive...
Maybe my cabby was "gaming" when he hit that pedestrian at wellesley and university while driving me home friday night....
Yo, don't forget Cambridge, MA, my fair city! We're going to have (
