What character is that? Because it sure ain't the chinese character for dog.... also apparently this year is a good year for having kids according to a bunch of chinese astrology sites.

Does anyone else feel like the evil people who brought consumerism to all other holdays are trying their darndest to include the Chinese New Year?
Like with all those news interest stories on things to buy your dog, where to go to the vet, pet insurace, how special breeds are hot, etc etc...?

it is the character for dog.
the one that josh posted is the simplified version (used in mainland china).
the one that you know (http://digital-memoirs.net/blog/images/zodiac_dog.gif) is the traditional version, commonly used in chinese newspapers.
my parents got me to learn both.
it really messed me up :\
