Three friends are sitting in the little party seat section of the VIA train. The chatty Cathy whom TOist has been avoiding entering into conversation with gets up and begins venting about the lateness of the train to them. She has been sighing impatiently throughout the ride, grimacing every time the train pulls to an unanticipated halt.
ChattyCathy: I told my husband I’d be in at 4:30.
Man: That was a mistake, VIA never gets anywhere on time.
ChattyCathy: Well this is the first and last time I take the train!
Man: If you get in over an hour late, they give you a voucher.
ChattyCathy: That would be good.
Man: But it doesn’t really matter, because you’re never going to take the train again anyway.
ChattyCathy: Still, you know. It would be the least they could do.
THe train then arrives :58 minutes late. No vouchers, no love.
