One of the worse things about this asinine CBC lockout are the replacement managers they’ve got to take over the morning shows. Instead of quirky, insightful and useful radio we got hours of snooze-inducing radio just when we needed to wake up.
There was probably good reason why Andy Barrie’s Metro Morning was the number one morning show in Toronto. The Metro Morning Gang had personality, character and knew what was going on, or at least had the curiosity to seek it out. All of these are in short supply at the management run mother corp.
For the last couple of days though our mornings are almost back to normal with Barrie and Co. broadcasting Toronto Unlocked daily from 6-8am on CIUT. Yes it’s early but it’s worth it. In one broadcast the gang at Toronto Unlocked manages to cram in more quality radio than a whole weeks worth of replacement run CBC.
