We’re running around the bend in the course, where thousands of slower runners can see the thousands of faster runners just ahead of them. Two ‘cool dads’ are buddies and obvious subscribers to Men’s Health. They have salt and pepper hair, ‘funky’ extreme running attire, and think they are very, very cool, considering their age.
Guy 1: Hey Grant, I just saw your son go by (ahead).
Grant: (suddenly losing his chill) Where? Where?
Guy 1: He’s past us now, he was giving you the bird!
Grant looks crestfallen!
Guy 1: (realizing his joke was flat)I was just kidding, I didn’t see him.
