Knowing Your Fashion on a Thursday Night

knowdresscode.jpg
The KNOWdresscode Design Collective (KDC) presents “Virgin Territory,” a fashion show celebrating fresh hot local designer talent. In conjunction with Toronto’s Alternative Fashion Week, the show will take place on Thursday, September 29, at Touch Lounge (499 King St. West).
Founded in 2004 by Niamh McManus, Cat Essiambre and Irene Stickney, the KDC is a group comprised of 15 up-and-coming designers – who get their inspiration from Karl Lagerfeld – are all about creativity and stirring up some old fashioned hullabaloo.
This year’s show being the second of its kind; “Virgin Territory” has big shoes to fill. Last year’s show simply titled “KNOwdresscode” took place on September 9, at Kensington’s X-pace gallery to an audience of over 200 artists, students and fashionistas. Sponsored by Coup Bizarre and Sutherland Models, the show was a raw ode to school uniforms and designing without borders.
With one extremely successful show under their belt, the collective has grown into a slightly more polished yet still edgy group. This year’s show will combine fashion, art and music to give a new meaning to virginity. KNOwdresscode draws the connection not in the typically trashy sense but rather as a means to chart one’s own territory in an untainted, innovative and totally new way. KNOwdresscode designs will be displayed and sold at Propaganda (686 Yonge St.) and The Rage (13 Kensington Ave.)
Cover is $5 at the door. For more information, visit www.knowdresscode.com.

Who’s the fucking asswipe in the photo?
Oh, that’s right – another transplant with zero talent to peddle.
