Leave Your Photo ID At Home
![]()

Same price, same pretty good service, but more people – beginning September 1, 2005, the TTC monthly Metropass will be transferable. This means when you’re not travelling, your loved one, pal, sister and arch-nemesis can all borrow your Metropass to get around town. Also newly available is the TTC Weekly Pass. This works the same way as the monthly pass, but costs only $30 (adults) or $23.75 (students & seniors) and lasts only for one week. Because of all these changes, adults no longer need photo ID (but students and seniors still do).
Not sure if a weekly or monthly pass is for you? Torontoist recommends one day soon you try a Day Pass on for size. For $8, you’re allowed unlimited travel throughout the TTC after 9:30am any one day during the week. Things get much better on the weekend – you can bring the whole family along and there’s no time of day restriction. If you find after the day is over your love affair with the Red Rocket has blossomed, maybe it’s time for some weekly or monthly commitment?
