Film Fridays: Languid Leung

2046-21-1.jpg
- We've had too much of a popcorn summer - too much mugging Murray, and prattling Pitt and dervishy Depp. It's time for something slow, meandering and altogether beautiful. It's time we got to seeing the Wong Kar Wai epic we've been hearing about for years now. Thank goodness it has finally crawled into the theatre. 2046 takes us back to the world of Mr. Chow (Tony Leung) of In the Mood for Love. Sadly, life hasn't treated him well. Happily, Tony Leung is best when playing browbeaten.

- On Saturday Night Pleasure Dome will be showing celluloid in the courtyard of Richmond 401. Participants can bring anything under 10 minutes long. Audience members can bring patience.

- Saturday is International Home Movie Day at the NFB. Discussions, screenings, prizes and the opportunity to spend a few hours in the dark chill of the mediatheque.

- And, it's last call for It's All Gone Pete Tong at the reps. Grab some hummus and go.

and don't forget your flip-flops... for inspiration.

oy , that's all fine and dandy but it's just cruel to show me an intriguing movie (2046) and then don't tell me where it's playing!

So far, neither the festivals nor the famousplayers carry it. Where did you see such a gem :P?
