Following a league-wide signing frenzy that included names such as Forsberg, Iginla, Naslund, Niedermayer and Gonchar, Maple Leaf GM John Ferguson answered the call early Thursday evening, inking sharpshooter Tie Domi to a 2-year deal worth a reported $2.5 million. The Maple Leaf veteran will be expected to fill the scoring void left by last week's departure of forwards Gary Roberts and Joe Nieuwendyk, and will likely hold a spot on coach Pat Quinn's top powerplay unit.
Ferguson still has a handful of roster spots to fill, and as negotions with Randy Carlyle and Don Beaupre have reportedly broken down, the Leaf GM is apparantly looking at signing concussion twins, Eric Lindros and Jason Allison to provide some added offensive spark.
*** MAPLE LEAFS HAVE SIGNED JASON ALLISON halfway through this post, but he's clearly not worth a re-write. It is a one-year deal, terms not disclosed. ***
In other disappointing news, Torontoist editor Josh sallied out of an exclusive TOist re-union party with his favourite sports personality this past Wednesday evening. Tsk Tsk!

um excuse me but i had responsibilities on wednesday night. it's not my fault the adorable blogger adrian doesn't know what responsibility is. i mean, the guy can't even keep track of how many bowls of cereal he eats a day.

You could've atleast split some nachos with tim at the quail if you knew you were going to weasel out on supermarket. even phillips put on a better performance than you. that and i dont eat cereal.
