Crawling Our Way Out of Summer

Seems like just days ago we were dealing with smog alerts, heat stroke and gooey asphalt. Now we're thinking about fall fashion, the film fest and falling leaves. Where did the summer go? More importantly where did all those summer art shows go?

If you hurry you might still be able to catch some of them. There's the packed to the gills Square Foot show at AWOL and down the street there's a delightful mini retrospective of photos by Andre Kertesz at Stephen Bulger gallery.
If you want to soak in the last few rays of August sunshine head down to the Toronto Sculpture Garden for Luis Jacob's playful installation Flashlight. which incorporates a Parliament song and cycling. What more could you want out of an art installation?

Want more outdoor art? Head down to Dundas Square. Torontoist has made his distaste for Dundas Square pretty clear but we also gushed about Jillian MacDonald's video work when it was at YYZ. Lo and behold here it is again part of Transmedia :29:59 initiative, playing every hour on the 29th and 59th minute. We're so torn.
