500 Sq. Feet of Art

artcrawl.gifTorontoist knows that the summer heat and smog can actually leave you quite literally crawling from gallery to gallery. So this week's art crawl will save you the trouble. Instead just find your way to the AWOL gallery for their 3rd annual Square Foot show. (go after the Alley Jaunt)

The show's third incarnation ups the ante and the organizers invited some 500 artists to show their sq. foot of art. The results will undoubtedly be a mixed bag of new, emerging, part-time and more senior artists but with 500+ artists you'll find something you like. Works are also for sale for $200.

Everyone look for the hooked rug by Christa Rowley, because she rocks.

And the interactive 'square' where you can look through from one side to the other and become part of the show yourself.

Luddites may call this a 'window' but hey, they're still back at the ranch doing the square inch show...
