Ziggy Stardust and the Butlers from Montreal

firebowie.gifIn perhaps the ultimate gesture of admiration, Torontoist has learned that the Arcade Fire will play back-up to Mssr. David Bowie on his next concert tour. This is not totally surprising - since Bowie has had an increasing presence in the Arcade (they wrote a song for him) while the Thin White Duke has been big upping their album to just about anyone. Whenever it is they play these alleged shows (probably to promote Bowie's new DVD release in the fall), Toronto will indubitably be a tour stop.

What? Backing band for Bowie? Who are your sources? I want proof! (If true, see first comment.)

they are playing a gig w/ Bowie on the same bill in NYC. Fashion Rocks at Radio City on 9/8, but this is the first i've heard of this.

i'll check it out, but i dunno...

this rumor is incorrect.

the band MAY back Bowie at the Fashion Rocks concert on 9/8 at Radio City, that's not been determined just yet, but they are not going on tour w/ him as his backing band.
