Celebrate Bland Advertising!

ctsfbrochure_centre.jpgCelebrate Toronto with pictures of beautiful, diverse, smiling people. Why are these people so happy? We're not sure. Perhaps they just love a good street party. We're guessing the little one is a Broken Social Scene fan, excited that her favourite band is playing for free.ctsfbrochure_left.jpg And the dread guy might be a closet Holly Cole head. It's no surprisectsfbrochure_right.jpg that this whole hoo-hah is brought to you by the Toronto Branding Project, the same people who gave us Toronto Unlimited. They're calling the street party a 'thank you to everyone who participated in developing the new Toronto brand by giving their thoughts and opinions about Toronto during the public engagement campaign.' Celebrate Toronto runs all weekend, so put on your best freshly-scrubbed smile, and get out there.

Hi Sarah. The Celebrate Toronto Street Festival is in its 7th year... it was around WAY before "Toronto Unlimited". I can't find a connection between these two things in the links you included besides the word "Toronto".

if you go to the website they say that toronto unlimited put on this year's evening festivities as a present to the city of toronto for giving input to the brand project..http://www.toronto.ca/special_events/streetfest/opening.htm
the evening is called toronto unlimited presents:

Is it me or does it seem like the lineups for the fest are pretty crappy. Except for BSS at Dundas Sq. of course, which will make spending time at Dundas Sq. almost palatable.

Thanks Sarah, I missed that. I see, they're hosting the opening tonight. Cool.

Yeah, BSS is playing at 10pm. I'm rather pleased as I missed them when they were here about 2 weeks back!

"...all these people drinking lover's spit..."

And, I will love the fact that I can hear 'em while outside in Toronto. As for the smilling faces..maybe they are like that little girl in the movie "One Crazy Summer" who gets hit on the back and her face freezes...
